Professional Development Seminars and Workshops

The Capital District Writing Project offers many professional development seminars and workshops throughout the year. Please visit our Upcoming Events page for the latest announcements about such events.

Through the Greater Capital Region Teacher Center, CDWP regularly offers one-day and multi-day workshops and seminars focusing on various issues related to teaching writing. Recent CDWP offerings through GCRTC include workshops on the following topics:

  • creating a process-oriented, student-centered classroom
  • preparing for standardized tests
  • connecting writing and reading
  • learning how to critically reflect on your own teaching.

These offerings are described in the recent issue of the GCRTC Core Connection.

Each summer the Capital District Writing Project offers one- or two-week workshops on important topics related to teaching and learning. Topics for these workshops change each year. Visit our home page for the latest announcements and for information about signing up for these workshops.
