Director Dr. Robert P. Yagelski is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Theory & Practice at the State University of New York at Albany, where he teaches in graduate programs in English education and conducts research on literacy. A former high school English teacher and freelance writer, Yagelski is author of numerous books and articles on writing instruction.

Co-Director Carol Forman-Pemberton recently retired as an English teacher and Staff Development Coordinator for the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District. With over 33 years of high school teaching experience, Forman-Pemberton is a highly regarded professional who has worked closely with UAlbany, the Capital Area School District Association, the Greater Capital Region Teacher Center, and other organizations to improve teaching and learning in the region’s schools.

Co-Director Alicia Wein is an English Teacher at Guilderland High School, and has been an adjunct at Syracuse University for the department of English since 1999. A NYSEC Educator of Excellence, a poet, and a writer, Wein has worked closely the Capital District Writing Project since the summer of 2004.
