Inservice Programs

CDWP offers a variety of consulting and inservice programs for individual schools or school districts seeking to improve writing instruction and to enhance student learning. CDWP teacher-consultants are experienced, accomplished teachers who have successfully completed the CDWP Summer Institute and additional training. CDWP works with schools and districts to develop inservice programs that directly address specified needs tailored to specific student populations. CDWP inservice programs address a variety of topics, including:

  • Implementing a student-centered, process-oriented writing workshop.
  • Developing authentic writing assessments, including portfolios.
  • Integrating writing and reading in English Language Arts classrooms.
  • Integrating writing across the curriculum.
  • Using technology in the teaching of writing.
  • Integrating the visual with textual communication.
  • Writing in various genres.

The CDWP can also tailor any of our currently offered workshops or sections of workshops for specific district or group needs. Please see the Professional Development section and Upcoming Events for current offerings.
